What is UV printing on glass?
Printing on glass has been one of the most difficult tasks to accomplish for decades. Due to the smooth and non-porous structure of glass, achieving a strong and durable bond between the inks and the material was extremely difficult until the discovery of UV printing technology, which was a real technological leap in the printing industry. With this technology inks are applied directly to the material, and ultraviolet light is used to dry them. The special ingredients in the inks, when exposed to UV light, cause the ink to instantly harden and fix on the media. This makes the printing technology applicable to almost all types of materials, including glass. However, in order to achieve an extremely strong and long-lasting bond between the ink and the glass, it is necessary to apply a special adhesion promoter in advance.

Printing with UV inks is characterized by exceptional image detail, vivid and vibrant colors and high printing speed. It also allows precise color matching. The inks do not emit harmful substances, as they cure instantly when exposed to ultraviolet rays. Thanks to this, they are harmless to nature and humans. They have high resistance to wear and scratches and also to sunlight. This resistance, however, has a certain durability. Typically in 5-10 years exposed to direct sunlight graphics will begin to fade. For this reason, if durability is the goal, UV printing on glass is more suitable for indoor application.
