Finishing
As the name suggests, finishing is the final stage of the production process in a printing house. This stage employs various techniques, methods, and effects to enhance the aesthetics and overall appearance of printed products, while also ensuring functionality and durability. Finishing work expands the company’s portfolio by offering a range of options for the final look of each product, making it an essential part of printed product fabrication.
Here are some of the main finishing operations we offer:
– Sewing: Used to sew hems on banners and flags, as well as to join individual pieces of large megaboards and wallscapes.
– Eyeleting: A machine is used to punch holes in the hems and press eyelets. These reinforced openings allow for fixing the banner with ropes or zip ties to a frame.
– Lamination: A laminating machine applies a clear vinyl film with various characteristics to a printed product, enhancing its durability and resistance. This process can also create various visual effects. Additionally, liquid laminate can be applied to improve vinyl banners’ resistance to UV rays, water, and mechanical damage.
– Mounting: Similar to lamination, this method applies an opaque film, with or without printed graphics, onto another material, such as when a product needs to be mounted on boards.
– Hand Cutting: Used when machine cutting is not applicable.
– Placement of double-sided tape, Velcro, etc.
– Rounding of Corners
– Creasing
– Stamping
– Perforations
– Bonding
– Collating
– Packaging
And many more!

The BU-1600 WL laminator is designed for applying liquid laminate (lacquer coating) to graphics printed on roll materials. This liquid laminate protects printed images from ultraviolet rays, which helps extend the durability of colors. Additionally, it enhances resistance to mechanical damage such as rubbing, scratching, and exposure to water and chemicals.
The lacquer finish is smooth and even, and can be either matte or semi-glossy, depending on the type of laminate used. Suitable materials for lamination include vinyl banner material and truck vinyl (commonly used for truck covers).
We are excited to introduce our latest technological addition for finishing operations: the Finishing Station from Plastgrommet. This advanced machine combines two processes—welding hems and placing eyelets—into one, saving both time and labor.
The Finishing Station features a conveyor belt and side tables equipped with rollers, facilitating easy and efficient handling of materials. The operator simply inputs the dimensions of the banner and the desired spacing between eyelets into the machine’s computer. The machine then calculates the precise positions for each eyelet and places them with high accuracy.
To begin, the ends of the banner are manually positioned in the hem guides. The traction rollers assist in pulling the material through the machine, while the conveyor belt moves the hem for both welding and eyeleting.
The eyelets used are transparent and made from high-quality, eco-friendly materials. These clear eyelets are less noticeable than traditional metal eyelets, allowing the material and printed images to show through. The caps are strong, resistant to mechanical stress and UV rays, and will not corrode. Additionally, they are completely recyclable, as they contain no PVC, phthalates, or heavy metals. They are made from a blend of polyester, polyethylene, and polypropylene.
It is crucial to recognize that not all clear caps are created from the same environmentally friendly materials, nor do they all possess the same level of recyclability. The eyelets we utilize are designed to minimize environmental impact, making them a responsible choice for our operations.
