Computer-cut vinyls

Fresh Print offers production of inscriptions and stickers made by plotter cutting.
It is carried out with special machines and software that provide precision and speed of production.

What are computer-cut graphics?
In general, they are: inscriptions, pictures, logos, various types of lines and geometric figures, symbols of all possible sizes and shapes. They are made from various types of self-adhesive film. Depends on the application and desired effects, their colors, texture, opacity, plasticity may vary. Maximum size depend on plotter width and material dimensions.

What are they used for?
Computer-cut vinyl products have a wide range of applications. They are a cost-effective way to advertise a product, brand, company, service, etc. It can also be used for directions, messages, warnings, for decoration or with artistic applications. Can be mounted on vehicles, on shop windows and doors, on signs, on walls and floors, on furniture, stands and advertising structures, at bus stops, in public buildings, on banners and clothes, in production premises, on machines , and others.

How is it done?
Special machines called cutting plotters are used to cut vinyl. These are modern, precise machines, controlled by a computer and special software, which, with the help of fine cutting tools, cut the graphic image to size or contour with high precision. In addition to cutting plotters for vinyl cutting, flatbed CNC cutters are also often used. The depth of cut depends on the type and application of the cut material. To fully cut off stickers, the full thickness of the material is cut through. Thus, the finished sticker is separated from the residual material. When cutting letters or a combination of images and characters, only the base and adhesive layers of the film are cut without cutting the peeling layer(so called kiss-cut). This allows to remove the redundant parts of the main, top layer, carrying the color and effects of the vinyl, and to leave only the necessary parts, shaped like letters, signs, symbols, and other images, without displacing their positions relative to each other, as with them still adhered to the bottom layer of the film intended to be peeled off during installation.

What are the advantages of computer-cut film?
Computer -cut film is a cost-effective way to convey visual information. It is known for it’s durability, water resistance, bright and persistent colors and effects. There is a wide variety of vinyl types for all kinds of applications and with different durability.

The most commonly used types of vinyl for cutting:

Films for cutting, as well as for printing, have different properties depending on the application.
Monomeric films can be used for installation on flat surfaces, as high stretchability is not required and the cost is lower. But this is conditional as there may be specific requirements for effects, increased or decreased adhesive strength, reduced or extended usage time, specific installation, etc. in such cases, appropriate materials are used.
For installation on surfaces with a complex shape or texture, polymer or cast vinyls are used, due to their high plasticity and stretching ability (vehicles, machines, fence panels, etc.). They can also have a variety of characteristics, depending on the requirements and application.
Some types of vinyls for cutting or for printing are sometimes interchangeable, but there are also ones specifically designed for each use.
They can be white or in a wide range of colors, with different transparency, smooth or with different textures, glossy or matte. Popular effects used are: frosted effect (with different shades and smoothness), metallic effects, or with patterns imitating different surfaces (wood, stone, metals, etc.) Frosted vinyls are often used for doors and showcases (working hours, inscriptions, images, snowflakes and simulated frosted surface). Reflective vinyls are used for installation on specialized vehicles (police, ambulances, fire trucks and other rescue equipment), can be installed on trucks, cars, signs, inscriptions, and any applications where high visibility is required in night conditions.

How is it installed?

Installation is carried out depending on the type and application of the products. For example, when we have ordinary stickers, the application is done by peeling off the back, protective layer of paper and applying the sticker on the surface.
When mounting inscriptions or a combination of symbols, or other multi-component objects, it is necessary to use an application tape. It is mounted on top of the cut graphic. The purpose is to ensure that the graphics are transferred to the mounting surface without moving the individual components. They are initially held on the back paper layer. When this layer is peeled off, the application tape ensures the transfer of the cut graphic without displacing the individual components. After the mounting is completed, the app tape that is no longer needed is removed and thrown away.

Mandatory requirements when preparing signs or stickers for opening hours:

According to the Consumer Protection Act, every commercial establishment must have a sign in a prominent place at the entrance indicating the opening hours and holidays, the name of the company (as a legal entity), the registered address of the company, and the materially responsible person. Therefore, in the design of the inscription, this information must be included.

Our company has extensive experience in the production and fitting of computer-cut products.

Our team of professionals will assist you in choosing suitable materials, guaranteeing you maximum suitability and effect. We mainly work with vinyls from the Orafol brand, but we can also order other brands of vinyls, if there is such requirement from the customer.
